What Should I Expect?

Visiting a new church for the first time can be a little intimidating.  It can even be a little scary.  People tend to have lots of questions, such as:

“What should I wear?”

“What do I say?”

“Will they make me do something weird?”

“Will there be coffee; will it be good?”

And perhaps the scariest of them all:

“Will they make me stand up and say something?”

Here’s the deal.  You can completely relax at GCF.  We don’t pressure, we don’t judge, we don’t make people do impromptu public speaking.  Come as you are!  We want you to be encouraged, inspired, and happy that you’ve been to church.  Oh, and there is always good coffee in the foyer!  So come a little early and enjoy good fellowship to go with your coffee or latte.

And about the dress code.  We don’t have one!  We really don’t care what you wear.  You will see some people in jeans some in shorts; most will be casual and comfortable.  Whatever works for you.

The service itself?  The service is upbeat and contemporary.  We have engaging music, creative forms of media, and occasional testimonies.  We communicate timeless biblical truths in a relevant and practical way.  Our service lasts approximately one hour and 15 minutes.

What about children?  Children, from age six and up worship with us through the music time and while the teaching takes place in the sanctuary.  We have interactive hand outs for them to stay engaged with during this time. Nursery is provided for children up to age 4.  Your child’s safety is our biggest concern.  Our nursery workers have been very carefully screened and are well-known by us.  It is common for parents to tell us their children asked to come back to our church!!

We look forward to seeing you this Sunday!
